  • Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT) involves using certain medicines (plants, fungi, or synthetic compounds) which can produce powerful effects on the mind and can often help individuals tap into deep emotions and insights that are often difficult to access through traditional talk therapy alone.

The goal of psychedelic therapy is to help individuals gain new perspectives on their life experiences, increase their self-awareness, and ultimately lead to lasting positive changes in their mental health and well-being.

Understory offers legal, safe, and accessible psychedelic-assisted therapy services. We are committed to helping the people we work with access the benefits of psychedelic therapy in a supportive and compassionate environment.

  • Psychedelic can alter your perceptions. At the dosages provided at Understory, you may experience:

    • A dream-like or ‘floating’ feeling

    • Altered sense of time and space

    • Mild changes in perceptions of sounds and sights

    • Relaxation of ordinary concerns and usual mindset

    • Disruption of negative feelings and preoccupations

    • Diminished or altered body sensations; some people may have an “out-of-body” experience, where the usual awareness of the physical body is reduced

When prescribed and monitored by medical professionals and coupled with preparation, education, and integration, psychedelic therapy can enhance the therapeutic process and unlock new insights that lead to improved mental health and well-being.

  • MSP does cover some of the physician fees, which helps reduce the overall cost. The Psychedelic Therapy portion, however is an uninsured medical service, meaning you will need to pay out of pocket.

  • We understand that cost can be a barrier to accessing specialized health services, such as those offered at Understory. As a result, we are working to find payment options that meet the needs of as many people as possible. If you are interested in a payment plan, please use the contact us form to express your interest, and we will notify you once we have a solution in place.
